Second Thought

Either way, we will neglect
this guesswork.
Swimming in the stream
of people encapsulated
in their self-made walls.
Jammed in traffic
of clues and hints,
lip synching the same
old line of self-defense.
A justification
followed by explanations.
Why do we choose to stay
the same?

For you, love is
a crossword puzzle
deciphering codes
stitching words.
If words would say rightly
the true meaning from the heart.
Then, we don’t need
a second chance
to [...]

There will be a single spark of light.
But not from the stars. Because even them,
they have shied away and have forgotten.
Here, only from my birthday candle
casting shadows waltzing the wall
and the chilly wind whistling a tune,
sending wisps of wishes, for tonight.
While the rest of the world snoozes
in its deafening silence. Getting used
with the normalcy of [...]

I Left The World As It Is

I left the world as it is
Not a tear has been shed,
Only the mist forming
faint breath of dying-
wisps of memory
of the world when
I first found it.
The womb of the earth
gave birth, a wound won’t heal.
A fading montage
I watched. I witnessed.
A cycle of suffering.
A continuous decay.
People lying lifeless
of hunger, alienation,
war and hate.
Dog eats dog, surviving
like savages
inflicting pain.  [...]

New Leaf on Living

Two nights ago, I tossed left and right in my bed , restless and not knowing what I have been missing these past few days.  Isolation takes a toll and there are days that I can’t bear  the reclusivity.  Those were the days when I felt that I don’t differ to the things you can find [...]

Halfway Through A Page

The words infiltrate a mind’s sovereign
colonizing a niche of space within
Rock-hewn among these parched walls,
petrifying civilization, quelling revolution.

The maze of letters clustered like jungle
to simmering cauldron of thoughts.
The texts became glowing embers
of world wars waged in the past.

When sentences begins imaginary-
little flames gather into firestorm.
Of bourgeoisie killing ideology-
etching history in its annals of freedom.

Crusade to [...]

The Wake-up Call

I skipped my regular routine attending church services in the morning that Friday.  A week ago, I have already informed our pastor that I plan to attend the Industrial Area church service instead in the evening.  I also missed out our church choir practice that night, which I am so sad about.
We braved the dusty road [...]

Solace

A box of reverie
I open today,
when hearing
a familiar old song.
An empty gaze
through the empty hall
brought back-
sunny days
and the carousel.

And all
the happy couples,
filling spaces
with their dreams
It used to be-
some balloons
float there
among the clouds.
See, even doves fly
with freedom on its wings.

Like changing of seasons
drifting away-
a gentle river
changing course.
I became-
a  passersby
to the playground.
To the carousel.
On one bleak, cold
Sunday [...]

Life Uncommon

What if I finally embark on a mission to indigenous lands? How can I accept their way of life? Will I accept their culture as superior than I have born with and satisfied with? Will I ever change my way of life and draw some inspiration and become like them-unwary of the stress of the [...]

Words To Live By

There are three words to learn if you want to be in harmony with almost anyone.  This is sorry-if you have unintentionally hurt or done mistake against someone. Another is thank you -if you have received in gratitude any kind of help from someone else. And the last  word is please-if you need something or simply asking [...]

Rocket Idea

There is a witty comment I came across in a meeting some days ago. I was clutching my pencil, nervously waiting for an hours’ worth of ceremonious talking  to end, when suddenly, someone blurted out that the solution is plainly simple.  “It doesn’t take a rocket idea to resolve the problem, don’t make it too [...]
