I have tried everything I was taught
to do. Trying to fit in the world
by becoming someone who,
I am not. An everyman.

What’s going on? How tragic
is this shallow happiness
becoming emptiness, seeking
where is the enlightenment?

Punch me hard to bleed.
Hit me more. Be harsh to me
like a nihilist. Obliterate
my every apprehensions.

Pull me away from this reality,
sheltered in [...]

Counting

That is when I would want to stop
thinking about numbers. Straining my eyes
glued to the pages of the calendar
pinned on the wall, I marked of days
in and out.  In a work life punching timecard.

You never knew how stressful it was,
to run alongside the clock ticking deadline.
And seeing life like a finish line,
guessing as if today [...]

I Left The World As It Is

I left the world as it is
Not a tear has been shed,
Only the mist forming
faint breath of dying-
wisps of memory
of the world when
I first found it.
The womb of the earth
gave birth, a wound won’t heal.
A fading montage
I watched. I witnessed.
A cycle of suffering.
A continuous decay.
People lying lifeless
of hunger, alienation,
war and hate.
Dog eats dog, surviving
like savages
inflicting pain.  [...]

Death Of A Little Bird

I was on my way to a restaurant that late afternoon to meet a friend, hurrying and my mind was filled with gloomy thoughts. My mind just wandered aimlessly, battling inner fears.
Rebel as I was, it seems that I am all wearied and fighting against the world, crushed in the agony of my self-defeat- I [...]

Blank Canvas In A Lazy Afternoon

Pensive as I was in this lazy afternoon.  Looking out in the window and the hazy light filtered through. Sending dust like a strobe of crystals. I stared. Just stared for the longest time.
The muse didn’t come as I expected.  Like an acrylic tube on the verge of squeezing out  of its contents, I just [...]

Life Uncommon

What if I finally embark on a mission to indigenous lands? How can I accept their way of life? Will I accept their culture as superior than I have born with and satisfied with? Will I ever change my way of life and draw some inspiration and become like them-unwary of the stress of the [...]

Dream Believer

Ten years. This was how long, I have mended a broken heart. I have kept something deep inside me a special spot that no one could ever find. A spot that I have built for myself a castle of dreams of many “could have been”.
There are no words could ever describe a deep yearning. [...]

Elegy to the Departed

Perhaps, Teofi
the promises of your future withers too soon
like the leaf falling early in the summer
where we frolicked in the fountain of our energies;
and bask in the heat of our freedom;
and in the nest of fermenting dreams with another human.
I can tell Teofi, how sad is the early goodbye
where you breathed your last and [...]
