Rhapsody In Blue

No string quartet.
No conductor to signal the baton.
No orchestra to anticipate my usual swoon
of randomly plucked staccato
alternating octaves
like a mad man in Vienna.

Alone in the stage,
I would linger
unvigorous in vibrato,
punctuating this sadness
in glissando. A solo part- how I wish
to serenade the muse. Longing
to tell her story in music-
under the sweet  delicate pitch
sorrow of Cremona.

The episodes, I have written on
mellow [...]

Kinesthetic

The walls are coarse to touch, hard and steely,
it was a challenge not to see but to feel with our fingers
sharp points that will prick a skin and bleed. By then
the grave of the earth has avenged its loss. The stair
is a winding wonder of wooden realm. Forest scent
permeates like sweat staining musk to the [...]

Bedspace

To this semi-privacy. An epitaph reads,
“in this sanctum, a restless, herein lies,
its opaque remembrance failing to breath
devoid of oxygen, rousing to the grind
like  a zombie of the worst kind”.
Against the ancient cracked walls, my fingers
will then, smear red letter stains of anguish.

The light bulb is my flickering moon
cocooned in cobwebs, I dread.
It went dead as [...]

Clothesline

you  reposed-
contoured in a shape

          formed ridges,
          dividing horizon.

          my fingers were
clothespins.

my legs were
propping

while you stretched
receiving weight

some wet linen
hung, to dry

Musically Challenged

I have always wanted to learn how to play the piano.  It is one of the things in my bucket list that I am compelled to do, fulfilling the goals I have set several years ago, but so elusive that I never found the proper time and place to learn it.  Even if I tried [...]

Haiku To A Hideaway

Let me beach to your powdery sand,
a beachcomber with seashells on his hand
delightful picking colored stones ashore.

On your rugged cliffs I climb and went,
lingering to witness your misty sunset
touched by the wind of this summer’s kiss.

The leaning tree, a coconut, subdued me,
as it veils its shadowy palms over me-
dancing divine light, streaming reverie.

Seawaves sailed glinting [...]

Winter’s Ode

Crisp sounds of the crushing snow
chills sensation to the eager toes.
with ice castles and the snowman
lovingly smile at this skiing yard.

Pieces of white cloud softly fall
Like angel’s hair in a divine show
Frost filled in the ivory horizon
A postcard captured joy of seasons.

Sweet embrace of the midnight sun,
Misty air swirls in magical swarms
Like a tapestry the [...]

Elegy to the Departed

Perhaps, Teofi
the promises of your future withers too soon
like the leaf falling early in the summer
where we frolicked in the fountain of our energies;
and bask in the heat of our freedom;
and in the nest of fermenting dreams with another human.
I can tell Teofi, how sad is the early goodbye
where you breathed your last and [...]
