I Left The World As It Is
May 31, 2009 by hames-1977
I left the world as it is
Not a tear has been shed,
Only the mist forming
faint breath of dying-
wisps of memory
of the world when
I first found it.
The womb of the earth
gave birth, a wound won’t heal.
A fading montage
I watched. I witnessed.
A cycle of suffering.
A continuous decay.
People lying lifeless
of hunger, alienation,
war and hate.
Dog eats dog, surviving
like savages
inflicting pain. Aimless
generation killing
one another.
Of bombs and guns.
I left the world as it is.
No heroes funeral.
I exited, unnoticed
in blood and death.
This poem is a downer, Marvin.
A view of life, the coming and going, here on earth in such a sad perspective.
Some look at life that way, there are moments when I’m also drawn to view it that way, in that angle.
But I always look away, in another direction to view life, the coming and going, in the more positive angle from shadows to light, and if we keep on going we will reach that glowing hope ahead.
“To leave the world a bit better,
weather by a healthy child,
a garden patch,
a redeemed social condition,
or a job well done
To know even one other life has breath easier
Because you have lived ~
This is to have succeeded.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Our birth brings something good to this world.
To be born is another triumph, and to die is another grand finale of the coming and going of life here on earth.
Every minute somebody is born, somebody dies. Each moment is a celebration of triumphs and grand finales.
I wish you well.
~ Jeques
jeques,
here, i assumed a different personality. this time i imagine myself as an innocent civilian caught in the crossfire of war and poverty.
I want to express the hopelessness there is when you try try to escape and live peacefully. But theirs is a situation that they have no choice, and death is easy.
beginning this time, i would try to become socially connected to the issues affecting the society. I felt that i am indebted to give back something to humanity.
cheers,
Marvin
